High pressure centered at the mid-latitudes dominates the north
central Pacific this weekend through next week.
A tropical wave moves west away from the islands, bringing the
deep layer moisture with it.
Trade winds slowly increase in magnitude ahead of the surface
ridge this weekend and remain moderate to brisk through next week.
The trade flow maintains widely scattered windward
terrain/mountain focused showers through the weekend and next
week. Local enhancements may occur with each low amplitude
tropical wave that passes through next week.
The persistent low-mid anticyclone north of the islands keeps the
deep moisture plume (higher precipitable water values) south of
the islands through next week, preventing greater coverage of
showers.
